Our story:
LB: I had just arrived the previous day in Buenos Aires, Argentina- a little nervous and very excited to spend the next 5 months exploring South America. It was Friday and my plan was to check-in at the Spanish school so I would know how to get there on Monday morning for class. After navigating the subway sytem, finding the correct street address, and making my way to the correct floor and office of the Spanish school, I was feeling pretty good about myself when I arrived at the school. Shortly after, Maurits walked in- "hola, me llamo Maurits, soy de Holanda, como estas?" I was thinking- "wow, he's tall, and seems nice, great!" We got to know each other throughout the next week: I asked to travel with him...he agreed. I had all my money stolen...he gave me money. We flew to Patagonia... and the rest is history:-)

Maurits: I had been in Buenos Aires for three weeks when I met Laura Beth. It was a Friday (Feb 25, 2005) and my Spanish class had just finished. I walked out the room and introduced myself to ‘Laura.’ In Spanish of course! The following week I was in the same class as her. It was quite a week! Only knowing each other for a couple of days, Laura Beth asked if she could travel with me. So brave! Of course I said yes. The next day when we were having lunch we got “tricked” and her bag with camera, money and bank cards was stolen! But she held herself together really well, I lend her some money and she quickly decided to still travel with me. A couple of days later we left for Patagonia and had a great trip… And now we’re getting married!
